5 Delicious Dates with Dad: Father's Day 2019
Father’s Day is fast approaching (it’s Sunday 1 September in case you need reminding).
Are you someone that likes to take your Dad out and celebrate with the brunching crowd? Only to realise that he would rather be at Bunnings having a sausage sambo instead of a skinny cap and waiting for a table at a popular café? Well, this year you can entice him with some more ‘manly’ options around town.
Capital Brewing Co
Every bloke loves Capital Brewing Co. And your dad will love it even more when he finds out they are giving away free tinnies and tours of the brewery every hour! Weather permitting, the outdoor seating and generous lawn will be the perfect place to enjoy burgers and flowing frothies! There is plenty of room for the kids to run free and play games too.
High Tea - but don’t be fooled…..
Yes, you read correctly. A high tea. But this isn't your classic scones and English Breakfast. This is a manly occasion! Beers, whiskey, meat, burgers and more. You’ve got two options:
Father’s Day Man Tea at QT
Views, meat trays, beer on arrival, pork loaded fries, whiskey and all the Asahi one desires. This is what Dad dreams are made of. QT Lounge is located on the 15th floor of the QT Hotel on London Circuit, so you’re guaranteed awesome views of Canberra, as well as live music to enjoy.
Tickets available here. 10am-4pm.
Dad’s High Tea at First Edition
Bottomless beers, beef and bonding sums up what you can expect from the latest restaurant and bar of the Novotel, First Edition.
Sliders, Guinness pies, fries, sweet treats and beer re-fills will be available to make sure Dad gets the treatment he deserves.
Tickets available here. 12pm-2pm, bookings are essential.
Marble + Grain Father’s Day
They say the way to a man’s heart is through food, and with this three-course menu from Marble + Grain, your Dad is going to love you just that little bit more.
Entree’s include pork belly, truffle parmesan aranchini, grilled halloumi and baby figs. That’s just the beginning. Choose from grass-fed sirloin, slow cooked lamb shoulder and baked salmon for main course, and of course there’s dessert. You can finish off with warm blueberry tart or sticky date pudding.
$75pp, 12.30pm - 2.30pm.
Tickets available here.
Wine and Fudge Tasting
If your Dad isn’t a beer lover, maybe he prefers wine? For a more sophisticated Father’s Day experience, Lake George Winery is offering tastings of aged red wines paired with fudge.
Enjoy the day at Canberra’s oldest winery, established in 1971. The vintage wines will be cracked open in their private wine cellar.
Book here - 11am, 2pm and 3pm timeslots are available.
